What is Art?

Art is an expression I must undertake. It is about utilizing different
tools and materials to transform these into something coherent,
making a statement about our life, here on earth. It is alchemy,
it is transforming lines, shapes, color, stone, wood, steel or
whatever into a statement or expression of existence. True art
speaks to it's viewer and moves him or her in some small way.

Why do you make Art?

I am a visual artist because I love working with my hands and
challenging my brain. I like to express myself and working
with visual materials like plastic, found objects and paint
energizes and stimulates me. By making objects or metaphors
I am able to communicate with someone I don't even know.
People come into a gallery and look at my work and hopefully
take something away with them. Maybe their life will be
altered in some small way. It is in this manner that I wish to
have some small affect upon the world. It is my way of
"making music" and enriching lives.
